Representatives of the Turkmen mass media visited Istanbul as part of the international "Ramadan Press Trip" organized by the Culture Council of the Turkish Embassy in Turkmenistan. Supported by Turkish Airlines, the two-day journey through the city on the Bosphorus provided an in-depth immersion into the history, architecture, and spiritual atmosphere of the holy month. The delegation arrived in the early morning during Sahur, experiencing the special spirit of Ramadan even before landing, thanks to a specially prepared menu on the flight.

The first day of the tour focused on the Beyoğlu district, the historical and cultural heart of Istanbul’s European side. The journalists explored the legacy of the 16th-century Venetian envoy Bailo at the Palazzo di Venezia and walked down the vibrant Istiklal Avenue. A highlight of the stroll was the iconic red nostalgic tram, a replica of the 1915 model. Its wooden frames and authentic seating offer a nostalgic journey through time, with the modern Istanbulkart terminal being the only contemporary addition to this historic vehicle.

A significant part of the itinerary included a visit to the legendary Pera Palace Hotel, established in 1892 for the passengers of the Orient Express. The participants visited the room where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed and the spot where Agatha Christie famously wrote "Murder on the Orient Express." The tour also included the Galata Tower, built by the Genoese in 1348, where they learned about Hezarfen Ahmed Çelebi's legendary flight across the Bosphorus in 1632 and walked down the Art Nouveau Camondo Stairs.

The most profound moment of the day was the Iftar at sunset. As the traditional cannon fire from Topkapi Palace echoed across the Bosphorus and the call to prayer began, a deep silence fell over the city before thousands of people broke their fast simultaneously. Guvanch Nurmyradov, CEO of Turkmenportal, remarked that history and spirituality exist as a living whole in Istanbul during Ramadan. This trip, aimed at strengthening cultural and media ties between Turkmenistan and Türkiye, continued the following day with a visit to Bursa, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire.
