Two helicopters collided in mid-air over the western district of Rio de Janeiro. According to the Brazilian fire department, the aviation accident resulted in at least six fatalities.
Local media outlet O Globo reported that the aircraft wreckage crashed directly into the parking lot of an electric vehicle dealership. The impact triggered a massive fire that destroyed approximately 20 vehicles on the ground.
Accidents involving light aircraft occur frequently in Brazil. Notably, last month in the southeastern city of Belo Horizonte, a small airplane crashed into the wall of a building, resulting in two casualties.
