Kazakhstan's Prime Minister, Kanat Bozumbayev, has announced ambitious plans to launch air taxi services in the country within the next two years. To facilitate the operation of this innovative mode of transport, specialized "quadroports" will be constructed in the Alatau region, Almaty, and several key tourist destinations. This initiative marks a significant shift towards modernizing urban mobility and positioning Kazakhstan as a regional leader in advanced transportation technology.

Kazakhstan has already been added to the list of buyers for air taxis from the American company Joby Aviation, one of the world's foremost developers in the field of urban air mobility. These electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft are designed to be environmentally friendly and exceptionally quiet, making them suitable for urban environments. The introduction of these flying taxis is expected to provide a swift alternative to ground transportation, bypassing traditional traffic congestion.

The construction of dedicated infrastructure, specifically the quadroports, is a critical component of the project. These facilities will serve as hubs for boarding, landing, and maintenance, equipped with the latest digital navigation systems. By focusing on Almaty and major tourist locations, the government aims to cater to areas with high demand for efficient travel, thereby enhancing the overall experience for residents and international visitors alike.
