Exhibition Honoring Heroic Turkmen Soldiers Opens in Dashoguz

The Historical and Local Lore Museum of the Dashoguz region has launched a thematic exhibition dedicated to the valor demonstrated by Turkmen soldiers during the 1941–1945 period. Organized by the specialists of the "Şöhrat" branch, the display serves as a tribute to the bravery of those who fought on the front lines and the resilience of those who supported the efforts from the home front.

The exhibition features a poignant collection of personal belongings, official documents, battlefield letters, and photographs that document the heroic journey of the soldiers. Visitors can also view military awards, period-specific musical instruments, and copies of the "Hatyra" (Memory) memorial books. The inclusion of themed paintings and sculptures further enriches the narrative of courage and sacrifice that defines this era.

Historical records highlight that approximately 30,000 residents from the Dashoguz region were deployed to the front, with over 8,000 unfortunately failing to return. This exhibition is a vital initiative to ensure that the legacy of these heroes remains alive, fostering a sense of patriotism and historical awareness among the younger generation while honoring the profound contribution of the Turkmen people to global peace.

















Turkmenistan Develops Bio-Agent to Neutralize Methane Emissions

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.

Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.

This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
