Hollywood actor Christian Bale has officially opened a specialized residential community in Palmdale, California, designed for children in the foster care system. Created through his "Together California" initiative, the project ensures that brothers and sisters entering foster care can stay together under one roof rather than being separated into different homes.
The 11,000-square-foot complex features 12 fully equipped family homes and two studio apartments meant for young adults transitioning out of foster care into independent living.
"Our goal is to transform the pain and trauma these children have experienced into hope and a promise for the future," Bale shared during the announcement.
The community will welcome its first residents this October. Bale revealed that the idea took shape after he became a father. Working alongside Tim McCormick since 2022, they raised nearly $9 million in charitable donations to bring the complex to life. Los Angeles County currently holds the largest foster youth population in the nation, with over 30,000 children in the system.
