Billionaire Larry Ellison Loses $104 Billion in Two Months

Following a sharp decline in Oracle Corporation's stock values, co-founder Larry Ellison experienced a financial contraction of approximately $104 billion over a two-month period. According to estimates by Forbes, the drop in net worth resulted in Ellison sliding from second to eighth place in the global billionaire rankings.

The market correction was primarily driven by investor concerns regarding the technology giant’s substantial capital expenditures on artificial intelligence infrastructure. Outlays required to build and sustain high-capacity computing frameworks, including major long-term commitments with key AI developers such as OpenAI, significantly exceeded earlier analytical forecasts.

Oracle’s overall market capitalization contracted from its peak evaluation of $877.1 billion down to approximately $433.5 billion. Financial analysts and rating agencies highlighted potential exposure risks associated with heavily concentrated order backlogs and long-term lease obligations for specialized data centers.

Despite the recent valuation decline, Ellison remains one of the premier figures in the global technology industry. However, the asset devaluation underscores the broader volatility surrounding enterprise investments within the rapidly expanding artificial intelligence sector.

A rye-wheat loaf preserved in a freezer for 36 years has been put on public display as part of the permanent exhibition at the Deutschlandmuseum in Berlin. Dubbed "The Last Loaf of the GDR," it was originally purchased on June 26, 1990, by student Michael Hagedorn, who bought an extra loaf fearing potential food shortages amidst the economic unification of East and West Germany.

The museum's director, Robert Rückel, described the unusual artifact as a unique poignant symbol of everyday human decisions during times of monumental geopolitical change. To maintain its preserved state, the museum installed a custom refrigeration unit where the historical loaf remains permanently frozen for visitors to view.
