Ambassador of Turkmenistan Wishes Success to Uzbekistan Football Team at 2026 World Cup
18 Jun. 12:10The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, Atadurdy Bayramov, expressed his support for the national football team of Uzbekistan currently competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The announcement was made by the press service of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan.
The diplomat attended a solidarity meeting in Tokyo alongside ambassadors from Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan to show unity with the Uzbek squad. "We wholeheartedly stand by our brotherly nation and wish the football players resilience, perseverance, and great success on the field," Bayramov stated.
The FIFA World Cup is being held from June 11 to July 19 across the USA, Mexico, and Canada. The national team of Uzbekistan has qualified for the final stage of the world championship for the first time in its history. In their opening group stage match, the Uzbek team lost 1-3 to Colombia. In their upcoming matches, they will face Portugal and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
